About Atelier Winslow

A portrait worth keeping.

A one-person studio in Montreal, trying to make the most beautiful portrait you'll own.

I ordered one before I sold one.

My name is Zaman. Atelier Winslow runs out of Montreal, and for now that means me, a laptop, and a printer in North America I trust.

Before I listed anything for sale, I ordered a portrait for myself. I wanted to open the box on my own table first. If it had come out thin, or shiny, or like the kind of thing you hang once and stop seeing, there would be no shop. It didn't, so here we are.

What I'm trying to do.

Give people the most beautiful portrait I can, even when that takes a few more rounds of changes.

What you're ordering is a keepsake. Pets don't get long with us. A dog gets twelve years, maybe fifteen, and then what's left is a camera roll where the photos sink under ten thousand other photos and you stop finding them. Something on your wall doesn't sink. You see it every morning without looking for it. That's what I'm trying to make.

It doesn't have to be a pet.

People send me all sorts of things. The house they grew up in. A grandparent. A car they sold. A place they went once. Something they just want in their room, made the way they picture it rather than the way the photo happened to come out.

If you can describe it, I'll make it. Pets are just where I started.

Made by a person, on a computer in Montreal.

Every portrait is composed and retouched by me, here in Montreal. I use AI image tools, but I'm the one who chooses, corrects, and decides when it's ready. Nothing goes to print until I've checked it and you've approved it.

You send a photo and tell me the style you want. I work on it until it's right, then you get a preview. If it isn't there yet, we redo it. No limit.

Then it's printed on woven cotton-poly canvas, stretched over a pine frame from certified renewable forests, and shipped ready to hang. Run your hand across it and you feel the weave.

Why I'm careful about what I promise.

There's a lot of noise in this corner of the internet. Shops that call a print a painting. Shops that say hand-finished when nothing was touched by a hand.

I'd rather tell you exactly what you're getting and have it beat what you expected. A digitally created portrait, printed properly on real canvas, that looks like it belongs on your wall.
